Where is Horatio Caine!?

e woke up on X-mas morning and went to do some sightseeing in Miami...well, actually, Miami Beach. We drove down to Ocean Drive, parked the car and started exploring on foot. Humidity was at 200% and the more you walked, the denser the air felt...it was crazy. At some point, our of nowhere, it started raining, for something like 2 minutes and then it suddenly stopped. Miami Beach is an upgraded version of Tel-Aviv beach, with its sidewalk cafes and bistros, Art Deco and Bauhaus architecture and, as we already mentioned, humidity. I dare not think about what happens here in the summer. In a nutshell, Miami Beach is gorgeous.

We then drove to Little Havana and had lunch at a small Cuban Restaurant which served fried Yucca, rice and black beans and other assorted Cuban dishes. Delicious! We lit another cigar and kicked back to feel the warm sea breeze and Cuban sounds playing from the restaurant. Given it was X-mas day, there wasn't much else we could do today, so this post, unfortunately, will be short. In the afternoon, we took a walk on one of the islands called "Brikell Key" which has a park wrapped around it filled with "Fishing not allowed" signs every few feet.

We're checking out of the hotel tomorrow morning and heading up towards Tallahassee and out of Florida (general direction: New Orleans!)...so stay tuned ;-)
